I like it tart and dirty (my martinis I mean)
Today is my super special birthday, so in honor of this fantabulousness, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite drink recipes with you all!
In case you don’t know, vodka is my favorite. Well, along with beer and wine. But my favorite liquor for sure. So martinis are on the top of my list of super fave cocktails, of course. But not super sweet martinis, because I’m not a fan of sugary drinks. Instead, I like tart and sour and salty drinks, which is obvious by my top three listed below. Enjoy y’all!
My top 3 favorite martinis
3. Sour Apple
2. Lemon Drop
3. Sour Apple Martinis
This one is about as sweet as I’ll go when it comes to cocktails. Luckily, the sour mix and vodka help cut some of the sweet of the apple liquor. Though I will say I love the cherry garnish. I hated jarred cherries until I was pregnant with my third, then for some reason I just couldn’t get enough of them lol. Recipe is super easy, because I’m a lazy drinker lol.
1 part vodka
1 part DeKuyper Apple
1/2 part sour mix
Pour over ice, shake and strain. Garnish with a cherry and then eat the rest of the jar by itself. I mean, if you want.
(So if you wanted a small drink, it would be 1 oz vodka, 1 oz apple, 1/2 oz sour mix.)
2. Lemon Drop Martinis
Okay these are really my favorite as shots, only because I feel like since they are so tiny I can have more and not feel too bad. It’s like a grown up version of lemonade y’all! Here’s the hubby’s version, because he thinks no one will like mine:
2 parts vodka
1/2 part fresh lemon juice
1/2 part sugar (superfine if at all possible)
Rub the edge of the glass with a lemon peel and dip in sugar to coat. Pour over ice, shake like crazy to mix up the sugar and strain. Garnish with a lemon slice or lemon peel twist.
(If you want MY badass version, double the lemon juice to make it super tart and tasty and amazing.)
1. Dirty Martinis
Hands down, this is my #1 drink. Unfortunately, no one ever makes them the way I like. Ever. Even when I explain exactly how I want. So usually I just make them home alone. Not that I drink alone. Because that would sound like I’m a drunk. And I’m totally not. Pinky swear.
Anyhow, my recipe is straight up easy.
Half olive juice
Pour over ice. Shake and strain. Tah dah!
Need more help? Not quite clear on what I mean? I made a video just for you! I may or may not have already had the other two martinis above before I got to this one, so excuse me laughing at myself. Lol.
