Whine Coolers – The Perfect Cocktail for a Mom PJ Party

As a mom, you know how hard it can be to get a night out with your best girlfriends. You have to get all dressed up (which I admit can be fun), figure out where to go, who is going to be the designated driver, fork over a good bit of cash for drinks and cover charges, and then the night always seems to end before you are all ready to go home. Instead of going through all that hassle, why not just have a girls’ night in instead? A pajama party with your girlfriends is loads of fun and you can totally rock your yoga pants and toe socks without having to worry about the stares you’d get if you tried to pull that off at a bar or club! You can dance all night long, eat too much chocolate (is that even possible?!), cry and laugh together over stories about your daily life, and enjoy some crazy delicious drinks without having to worry about who is going to drive everyone home.

So in honor of the oh-so-awesome GNI, I’m sharing my recipe for yummy homemade strawberry sparkling “whine” coolers below. It’s one of my favorite drinks to make for get togethers!

Strawberry Whine Cooler

Whine Coolers

Because sometimes we just need a break from the whining!

Ingredients:
4 ounces of sparkling wine
2 Tbs strawberry puree
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp lime juice
Ice
Sliced strawberries

Directions:
1. Mix together the strawberry puree, sparkling wine, sugar and lime juice. It’ll be a little foamy from the carbonation, but give it a minute and it will settle right down.
2. Pour into an 8 ounce glass and add a few slices of strawberries to make it all fancy-like.
3. Fill the glass the rest of the way with ice.
4. Top with a sliced strawberry on the rim as a garnish.
5. Enjoy!

This drink is super easy to make and even easier to drink, lol! I like to strain the strawberry puree because I’m not big on the seeds, but you can leave them in if you don’t want to bother with that step. Moscato and prosecco are my favorite sparkling wines, though if you wanted to use champagne, that would totally work as well.

Need to make a big batch for all your girlfriends to enjoy? Not a problem! Use the proportions below to make a whole pitcher. It’s easier to chill and have a good time at your pajama party when the drinks are all made up in advance anyway! Proactive yo!

Whine Cooler ingredients (the big ol’ batch edition)
1 bottle of sparkling wine
3/4 cup strawberry puree
2 Tbs sugar
1/2 Tbs lime juice

There ya have it ladies, one of my favorite party drinks of all time! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
